How Do I Know What Level My Child Plays Under?
In our Bylaws, Guidelines, Regulations, Scheduling, and Registration - you will see your child's age range listed in the "U-Age" format. You can read this as "Under - Specific Age" and the following typically aligns: U6 (Pre-K/K), U8 (1/2nd grade), U10 (3/4th grade), U12 (5/6th grade), and U14 (7/8th grade). MVYS currently utilizes the school year as the cutoff for team placement.
COMING NEXT YEAR: MVYS will continue to align with the US Soccer Association guidelines and adopt their date-specific age cutoff of September 1st, 2026 (and forward). Please note that this will have minimal impact but may feel different as we implement; we understand there may be concerns and growing pains that come along with this shift.
