"Last year was my first time coaching and it was so rewarding! I had been a coach in many ways throughout my life but never out on the field and it was a fun new challenge. Getting to know my players and seeing them make such huge progress in skills and confidence throughout the season made it all worth it. The Board was supportive and involved, answering questions and providing encouragement throughout the season, and I will definitely be back on the field this fall!"

"Coaching for the 2024 season was my first time coaching. I really wasn't sure what to expect, not only coaching my own child but 10 others as well! We made practices a balance of fun and learning skills to keep the kids engaged and over the course of the season you could see all the pieces coming together in the games. I will never forget the excitement of getting to watch and cheer from the sideline with the players or the pure joy Coach Tracey and I had when our team scored their first goal. Its an experience I won't forget and I can't wait to coach again next season!"

"I have been coaching for MVYS for 3 years, and every year has been great! There is something special about coaching youth soccer. From helping kids gain skills in practice, to seeing them score a goal in a game is what I enjoy the most. I love helping to build their overall confidence, and hope it doesn't only help them in soccer, but carry over into their life. My hope is that my players have fun and learn a lot, but what I always walk away with is something new that a child has taught me during the season. I cannot wait for the next team I get to coach!"

"I had a blast coaching the youngest generation of kiddos this past year. It was fun watching the transition from "ground zero" where the kids knew essentially  nothing about soccer, to the final game of the season where we got our first goal & teammates worked dynamically to pass to one-another. It was an incredible experience and I learned a lot about myself as a coach, but also as a person. I can't wait to coach again for MVYS this year!"

"Last year was my first year coaching and I was really nervous!!! I had a million questions and emailed the board maybe three times a week, every week. Every single time, they answered me quickly and offered whatever help I needed. Josh even offered to swing by practices if I needed help because I didn't have an assistant coach. At one point, we lost a ball and didn't have enough for all the players and Kate ran one down to me that same day during practice. Anything I needed, they were there for me even when I didn't know what I needed. I created such a bond with each of the kiddos and was sad when our season was over. I will definitely be coaching again! Coaching, even just once, is definitely an experience that everyone should be able to have with their kids!"
